      An orientation programme on project work for B.Sc. students

    The students of M.Sc. Zoology Mr. Karthik G. Salehittal (Secretory, Jijnasa),  Ms. Vinutha (Member of Jijnasa) and Ms. Sharanya R Rao, described in detail about the skills and knowledge required to undertake the diversity related project work for B.Sc. students.  Mr. Karthik G. Salehittal (Student secretory of Jijnasa) gave a brief overview on components of project work and ‘Collection and identification of Arthropods’. Ms. Vinutha (I M.Sc. Zoology) delivered a talk on ‘Bird watching and its checklist’. Ms. Sharanya R Rao, of I M.Sc. Zoology gave a brief idea about the ‘Identification of Molluscan Shells’.

Abstract writing and Poster making for Conferences

Jijnasa members presented papers and bagged prizes in the National conference organized by the PG Department of Biotechnology, Alva's College 

Ms. Shenoy Samrudhi Suresh & Ms. Jenifer Shery Pinto, presented a paper entitled ‘Analysis of nutrients and plant growth promoting activity of cow dung and rabbit droppings’  and won the ‘First prize’.

Ms. Sruthi Prakash  & Mr. Sreehari S , presented a paper entitled 'Ovicidal, larvicidal and IGR activity of Acorus calamus against mosquitoes’’  and won the ‘Second prize’.
